It has been a busy and productive week across all grade levels, with students engaged in academics, creativity, extracurriculars, and experiential learning.
Here are some of the highlights from this week:
🎒 Primary Years Programme (PYP) Highlights:
Our youngest learners have been exploring transportation, moving from identifying different types to understanding how and why we use them. It’s been exciting to watch their curiosity and thinking develop!
Creativity has been shining in various ways, from storytelling and art to hands-on projects. In math, students have been focusing on measurement, discovering the need for standardized units and realizing how often measurement is used in daily life.
Grade 5 students continue working hard on their PYP Exhibition projects while also welcoming our new teaching intern, Mr. Sam. It’s wonderful to see them demonstrating a strong work ethic and sense of community.
A big thank you to the Student Council for organizing and leading today’s assembly! Their ability to communicate effectively, self-manage, and demonstrate courage was truly commendable.
🎓 Diploma Programme (DP) Updates:
Our DP students have been tackling their mock exams with focus and determination. This experience is an important step in preparing for their final IB assessments, and we are proud of their hard work!
🌿 Experiential Learning:
5th and 6th graders took part in nature walks and outdoor learning, using the opportunity to explore, reflect, and connect with nature—reinforcing the importance of well-being and experiential education.
🌍 Model United Nations (MUN):
Our MUN delegates engaged in thought-provoking debates, representing different countries and addressing global issues with diplomacy and critical thinking. Congratulations to all participants for their leadership and dedication!
🏆 Sports & Extracurricular Achievements:
Our futsal team⚽ is preparing for their upcoming tournament, and we are cheering them on!
After-school activities continue to be a success, with students engaging in a variety of enriching and fun experiences.
Huge shout-out to Mika Solve for 25 years of service – good luck on your retirement! We will miss you!
It’s been another fantastic week of learning and growth, and we are so proud of our students’ effort, enthusiasm, and achievements.
Thank you for your continued support!
Digital Technology💻
In today’s world, technology is an essential part of our children’s education, social lives, and entertainment. While it offers incredible opportunities for learning and connection, it also presents challenges like screen time management, online safety, and digital responsibility. As partners in your child’s development, we want to support you in helping them navigate technology in a healthy and balanced way.
Here are a few key tips to encourage responsible technology use at home:
- Set Healthy Boundaries: Create tech-free zones during family meals and before bedtime to encourage real-life conversations and better sleep.
- Encourage Digital Balance: Help your child balance screen time with outdoor activities, reading, and hobbies to support overall well-being.
- Talk About Online Safety: Discuss privacy settings, appropriate content, and the importance of kindness online to promote a safe digital presence.
- Be a Role Model: Demonstrate healthy technology habits by setting limits on your own screen time and engaging in offline activities.
- Stay Engaged & Informed: Keep up with the apps, games, and websites your child uses. Open conversations about their online experiences are key.
To support you further, here are some helpful online resources and guidelines:

Counselor’s Corner Update! 🌟
This week, let’s focus on strengthening our connection with our children by practicing active listening. Taking time to truly hear their thoughts and feelings—even when they seem small—helps build trust, security, and open communication at home.
🌟 Parenting Focus: Active Listening & Emotional Validation
✅ Listen with full attention – Put down distractions and give eye contact when your child is speaking.
✅ Validate their feelings – Instead of dismissing emotions, acknowledge them with phrases like “I understand that this is important to you.”
✅ Encourage open conversations – Create a safe space where your child feels comfortable sharing their thoughts and worries.
💡 Try This at Home:
Ask your child open-ended questions like, “What was the best part of your day?”
Reflect back their emotions: “It sounds like you felt frustrated when that happened.”
Avoid rushing to “fix” the problem—sometimes, they just need to feel heard.
🌿 Parenting is a journey, and every effort you make matters. If you’re facing challenges or need guidance on navigating tough conversations, I’m here to support you! Feel free to reach out anytime. 💛✨
