1. Principal’s Message
Dear HIS Families
I hope you all enjoyed the beautiful weather over Golden Week. I wanted to remind everyone that next Monday is Student Led Conferences and next Friday evening is Spring Concert, so we have a week and for this reason, quite a lot of information below. On Monday, for the Student Led Conferences (SLC), we do not have a regular school day, rather students come to school with their families at the scheduled SLC time. On Friday, for the Spring Concert, primary students come home early – buses leave HIS at 1:00pm and the exact arrival times at each bus stop will be sent home on Monday.
Enjoy your weekend and we hope to see you at school next week.
Regards
Damian

8. Peace Ride Bake Sale, Thursday 18 May
Hello, this is Ryo and Lisa from the Peace Ride Team.
On May 18th, Thursday during lunch time, we will be holding a Bake Sale selling cookies, muffins, and sweets which will all cost ¥100 – ¥150. We are also accepting donations of baked goods for the bake sale. If you would like to bake something for the sale, please bring it to school on May 17th or 18th. The money collected will be used for the Peace Ride and profits donated to organisations that work for the recovery of the Kumamoto Earthquake. The Peace Ride team is comprised of 9 students and 2 teachers. Our mission is to promote peace through a physically demanding activity with symbolic significance. The last two years, the Peace Ride Team has cycled to Nagasaki, and around the Chugoku and Shikoku region, riding a total of 450 kilometres for each trip. This year, the Peace Ride Team will be going to Kumamoto and Nagasaki. We will hold a workshop in a school around Nagasaki and Kumamoto prefecture to spread the message of Peace and donate money to help the earthquake recovery efforts.
Yours sincerely,
Ryo and Lisa

・ Big thanks to Mr.Li(from Philippine food) for donations.
・ Once again, there is a thanks letter from Deli team.
From the International Deli
Many thanks to everyone who gave of their time, baking skills, packaging skills, sticker sticking skills and decorating skills at the Festival to help us prepare such a varied colourful selection of treats. Parents did most of the baking and packing, but we had the generous help of students and teachers as tasters during the week to make sure everything was fit for consumption! Thanks guys!
Further thanks to all those worked so hard all day to sell our wares on the day, and lastly to those who baked at home and donated their treats on the day, and lastly of course to everyone who bought them!
Thanks to you all, we were able to completely sell out all home baked goods before the end of the day, and hopefully we were able to contribute a little to the PTA’s efforts to support our school for our kids! It was a pleasure working with you all.
