Happy 2025! Welcome Back! We missed you!😍

I hope you enjoyed your holiday! We are excited to get back into our school routine.

Please join me in warmly welcoming two new members to our school community! 👋

  • Blance Venter: Our interim Art teacher, hailing from South Africa, is eager to share her passion for art with us.
  • Taylor Neilson: Our new PYP Coordinator, joining us from Australia, is excited to contribute to all aspects of HIS!

We are delighted to have them both on board!

A Big Thank you!

Dear HIS Community,Thank you to all who contributed to the Music for Palestine charity concert in December! All funds raised at the event have now been donated to UNICEF’s emergency fund for civilian aid to Gaza. We were pleased to have an unprecedented number of attendees and were able to raise a total of ¥106,000. Once again, we would like to express our gratitude to all who made donations to this cause. This event could not have been so successful without the generosity of the HIS community as well as the support of HIS students, staff, and parents. Thank you, and Happy New Year.

Kind regards,

Sean Watanabe

Welcome back and Happy New Year! 🎉 I hope you all had a restful winter break. As students prepare for the semester ahead, I would like to kick off the new year with the SEL theme of ‘Responsible Decision-Making’. During SEL and Homeroom lessons, students will enhance their critical thinking, practice ethical and safe decision-making, and develop the ability to evaluate the consequences of their choices. These lessons are designed to equip students with tools to tackle both personal and academic challenges effectively and to be effective ‘Thinkers’. I would also like to share two valuable mental health resources available to students and parents in Japan that offer confidential support to those in need:Tokyo English Lifeline Japan and Childline (Japanese Only)

Looking forward to meeting Grade 6 and 7 parents during this month’s Parent Coffee on January 27th.

I look forward to seeing you there as we continue to support our students’ growth together!

PTA Wolfpack

Hello, from the PTA!

Happy New Year!

We were happy to see so many smiling faces back at school this week. It was especially fun to see so many children enjoying the snow!

There is a boys basketball game at HIS on January 22. If you are able, please come out to support our team!

We are diving right into the first month of the year with a snack shop on January 30 and 31. Since it will be so close to Lunar New Year, expect some fun, snake themed treats.

We are also planning to do a skiing meet up soon, so if you have a favorite skiing or snowboarding location to recommend, please let us know.

We are looking forward to another great year of working together to make HIS the best school it can be!

Stay warm this weekend!
