Counseling Corner:
This month, we’re diving into Relationship Skills, focusing on building strong communication through Active Listening, Turn-Taking, Empathy, and Compassion. Developing these skills helps students create meaningful connections and collaborate effectively.
Parents, you play a huge role in modeling these skills at home! Here are three simple tips:
1️⃣ Give your full attention by pausing distractions and making eye contact when your child shares the events of their day with you.
2️⃣ Reflect back what your child says to show you understand, like, “It sounds like you felt really proud when you finished that project!”
3️⃣ Practice turn-taking during conversations or playtime to emphasize the value of listening and responding thoughtfully.
Make sure you check out this fantastic video on Empathy by Brené Brown that students will be discussing during next week’s SEE lessons : Watch Here. Together, we can help our kids grow into amazing communicators! 💛✨

PTA Wolfpack
Hello, from the PTA!
This week’s message will be short, as we only have a few reminders.
As we look forward to our Holiday festivities here at HIS, next week is the last week to bring in snack and candy donations. If you are able to contribute, please leave your donations in the red box under the Christmas tree. And while you are in the genkan, make sure to check out the beautiful advent calendar created by a very artistic PTA mom! Thank you for sharing your talent with the school!
Also, a reminder that both the candy wrapping day and the snack shop have been moved to next Friday, December 13th. Please meet at 9am in the genkan on that day if you are available to help.
We hope you are staying warm and are looking forward to enjoying Festive Eve together!
Thank you so much for your continued support!
